The RSA WEEE Man

RSA WEEE Man is a robotic figure made up of all different types of material that falls under the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive. RSA WEEE Man weighs well over 3 tonnes, is over seven meters in height and is made up of material that is representative of the average amount of products that just one person disposes of in their lifetime. He provides a real wake up call to people in the respect that taking a personal effort to help change the environment can actually make a difference after all

RSA WEEE Man was designed in 2005 by Paul Bonomini, a London–based designer, and built by a team of people in York. The objective behind the project being to raise awareness of the (WEEE) Directive and change attitudes and behaviour regarding environmental waste.

RSA WEEE Man is made from electrical and electronic waste, such as washing machines, TVs, microwaves, vacuum cleaners and mobile phones. If you click the image to the left you can see a break down of how the RSA WEEE Man has been constructed.

Now well settled in his new home at the world famous Eden Project in Cornwall RSA WEEE Man has to be seen to be believed. Visit www.weeeman.org for more information.
