WEEE Compliance for Lamps

The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive came into effect on the 1st July 2007, and ensures that Gas Discharge Lamps are collected and disposed of effectively and in an eco-friendly way. As a result there will be no extra cost to the user beyond those involved in transporting the waste Gas Discharge Lamps to the collection point from their premises, therefore, minimum hassle to the user. The infrastructure to achieve this is being financed through a recycling charge when new lamps are sold.

Some of the benefits of The (WEEE) Directive include achieving less toxic waste in the national waste stream (due to extraction from normal waste), recovery of raw materials helping long term sustainability, hassle-free, easy and clean disposal of Gas Discharge Lamps, the most cost effective system for the disposal of Gas Discharge Lamps, and easy compliance solution enabling you to concentrate on running your business.
